General
The Broken Filament Analyzer (BFA) is an inspection system that automatically detects and measures the density of broken filaments occurrence in glass fabrics.
The BFA system consists of Line Scan cameras, a special lighting source, a fabric rolling device and a dedicated image computer.
The BFA system is compatible with the IQ-TEX; cameras, rollers and lighting are integrated into the IQ-TEX mechanical frame.
Features
- Inspects 100% of the fabric
- Handles all kind of fabric width
- Detects broken filaments as small as 0.5 mm above fabric surface
- Allows inspection speed (fabric speed) up to 120 m/min
Detection
The system's unique mechanical and optical structure enables the detection of tiny glass filaments protruding out of the fabric:
- The tension generated as the fabric passes through the rollers forces the broken filaments above the surface.
- The system's light source illuminates the raised filaments.
- The CCD camera spots the tiny glowing elements and transfers the data to the system's computer.
